2. Trade Lupul and Gunnarsson to San Jose for Clowe and Vlasic. San Jose has to shake things up. They get a little more offense in Lups plus they can move Marleau off the wing and right out of town. SJ also saves about 1.5 mil in cap hits. they are more than welcome to take Army or Connolly in this deal but we’ll leave them out of it for now and deal with them later.

3.Trade Schenn and MacArthur for JVR. Maybe Holmgren will want to unite the brothers. We really need a big body up front who can score and has plenty of upside

4.Resign Kulemin for about 2.5, Frattin for 900K and Crabb for 850K (Crabb is plan B though…we could go Ashton or another Marlie so still a question mark there)

5. Sign Travis Moen. This shouldn’t be a difficult sell for Moen. All though I wouldn’t give him a penny more then the 1.5 he made last year we may have to ocugh up 1.7ish

6.Here’s the big one….trade Kessel for Getzlaf. We need a big centre. IF we can sign Parise then we can make this move. What we as fans don’t know is what discussions have taken place, if any, between the Ducks and Getz. He’s going into the last year of his deal….does he want a change? does he want to test free agency? do the ducks want a change?

I have Lombardi going back to Centre where he should be. 3rd line checking role. Although he may not be physical he can still skate with the best. I think he gets another look. Last year of his deal so possibly a deadline mover unless he truly impresses.

Frattin on the first line…..a bit of a risk there. Still have about 2.3 in cap space on that roster. We could get suckered by the playoff performance of Penner and go that route…..I’ll stick with Frattin for now

I still have Komi on the roster. Holzer would have to beat him out in camp. For now he stays

Still haven’t dealt with the goalie issue. I’m leaning towards signing Harding but only if we could keep it to 3 mil per max. Scrivens backs up and Reimer becomes trade bait along with……Bozak. Now he has me stumped. What is Bozak worth? He played the first line here but he’s not a first liner, he could be a second but is most likely a third. Can we deal him for an effective 3rd line winger and not sign Crabb? Do we package him with Franson and get a second liner RW and drop Clowe down to third? Decisions, decisions…..

And finally…Connolly and Armstrong…I’m not a big fan of buyouts. Both have 1 year left on their deals. I have to think there will be a team looking to get to the cap floor who will take them off our hands with not much coming back.

I did my own translation on that page…..apparently he plays on the Frozen Hamburgers so it just might be a Wolf in sheep’s clothing. This could be another cold lead for the Leafs. Hopefully it doesn’t leave us in a pickle.
