Matt Frattin
![]() | Matt Frattin Position: RW, Shoots: R, Height: 6'0", Weight: 207 lbs, Birthyear: 1988-01-03, Birthplace: Edmonton, AB, CAN, Drafted: 2007 round 4 #99 overall Talent Analysis Frattin is a Hobey Baker candidate, who is leading the voting at the moment. Once his season ends with UND, many expect he'll sign a contract with the Leafs and finish out with the Marlies (possibly in a playoff scenario). Expect Matt to be given every chance to make the Leafs next year in a Top 6 role. Though he won't likely develop much more, other than in his skating and on the defensive side of things. His biggest asset is his quick release from the slot, high glove hand accurate shot. Future Outlook Frattin has the tools to be a Top 6 forward with 20-25ish goal potential on his shot alone. As unlikely as it is that he ever realizes his potential, he could become a good role player with his size. His time with the Marlies, if or when he gets there, will tell the true story. Playing on a first line with Joe Colborne and seeing plenty of ice time will do wonders for his development, also look towards Frattin being the first callup if a winger is needed with the Leafs. |
